Frequently asked questions.
What is copywriting?
Copywriting is a term used to describe an occupation or action of someone who writes content for marketing purposes. The aim of the copy is to help boost brand awareness, sell a product or service and get the target audience to take action.
You can learn more about this in my handy guide to copywriting.
What copywriting services do you offer?
I have experience in writing both short and long-form copy, including content marketing, copywriting, social media marketing, blogging, magazine/newspaper article writing and proofreading.
How much does it cost to hire a freelance copywriter in Bristol?
According to ProCopywriters, the average daily rate of a freelance copywriter in the UK is £342.
However, you'll be pleased to know that my rates are a lot less. I prefer to draw up a fixed price for my clients based on their needs either at an hourly or daily rate. There are no hidden surprises, just a transparent and premium service from a trusted freelance copywriter in Bristol.
How do you take payment?
For new clients, I often ask for 50% of the proposed final invoice in advance. This is standard procedure within the freelance copywriting industry.
All payments should be sent directly to my bank account detailed on the invoice or via PayPal.
Are you willing to do a trial piece?
Only if you ask nicely! All joking aside, I respect you may want to "try before you buy". So, I'd be happy to write a small piece to give you a flavour of my writing style.
How long does it take a copywriter to turn a project around?
It depends on how busy I am when you send your brief. In some cases, I can do it within a few hours or a day to meet urgent deadlines. Although, during busier times of the year, it can take up to a week. For ghostwriting book projects, you can expect to receive the first draft within 4-8 weeks depending on the proposed word count and research required.
Nonetheless, I'll always give you a date of delivery before starting any copywriting or ghostwriting project.
Can I meet you before starting a content marketing or copywriting project?
Absolutely. If your business or agency is in the Bristol, Bath, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire or Wiltshire area, I'd happily meet up for a coffee.
If you're based in other parts of the UK or abroad, we can always arrange a meeting via Skype or Google Hangout. My freelance copywriting clients come from all corners of the world...Amsterdam, Valencia, Dubai, Glasgow, New York and so on.
Is it worth hiring a freelance copywriter?
As I highlighted in my previous blog post, it's 100% worth hiring a freelance copywriter. While marketers and editors may do a good job on your copy, is 'good' really enough for your business or agency?
To get quality results, you need someone with flair, creativity, marketing-savvy and experience.
