The ups and downs of self-employment courtesy of No Context Hearn

Updated: Oct 28, 2019

Being your own boss is bloody awesome. But it also comes with its challenges too. Using No Context Hearn clips, I share the highs and lows of being self-employed.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past month, you’ve probably seen clips of the boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn doing the rounds on social media via No Context Hearn.

Well, seeing as I love boxing and everyone seems to be adding their own captions to these hilarious clips, I thought it was time I threw my hat into the ring and gave it a go.

So, without further ado, “let’s get this party started!”

Here are 12 hilarious everyday trials and tribulations only self-employed professionals will understand summed up using Mr Eddie Hearn’s words.

When you get a call from a salesman named Lee trying to sell you some shit automation platform…

When prospects want you to do free work for them...

When you get off the phone after securing more work…

When you spend hours reading pointless blogs and you see another suggested article that takes your fancy…

When 31st January creeps up and you need to do your Tax Return…

When you realise every day doesn't consist of pointless 'meetings about meetings' because you make the rules…

When a client disappears off the face of the earth after sending an invoice…

When a prospect asks you what areas you specialise in and all your brain can think of is…

When you get to work with an old colleague/mate on a project...

When your mate says they're free for a few swift ones on a school night and you realise you can start work whenever you want tomorrow…

When you’re trying to take the best picture for your LinkedIn profile…

When a client settles your invoice just before a big weekend with the lads...
